Mustek US1200 plus Problems

A friend of mine has recently purchased the scanner referred to above.

It has failed to install properly, with some of the features within the
programme failing to work properly and others failing to work at all.

All references to the scanner have been eradicated in the registry and still
the thing fails to operate correctly.

Has anyone else in the group experienced this unwelcome feature, or do they
know anyone who has?

Anyone know of any resolutions, other than taking it back for a refund.

Get the latest software for your scanner, Windows XP is fussy with scanner
drivers.

The best download site is in Germany.

You will need your scanner's serial number.

Thank very much, will give that a go. I did try and install the latest
drivers but from another website, not the one in Germany.

I did a little more research after posting my original enquiry and found
that I'm not alone in having trouble with the drivers for this scanner.
There are report of faultless operation until XP has been installed,
whereupon the troubles started, so maybe the XP drivers for this scanner are
defective?

Nevertheless, I will give it a try to see if there is any difference.
