Epson Scan has three Modes: Full Auto, Home, or Professional.
In Full Auto mode, descreening etc. happens automatically, but if you don't
like the end result all adjustment has to be post-scan.
In Home mode there is a Descreening Filter option.
In Professional mode there is a Histogram Adjustment.
My problem is there is no Histogram Adjustment when there is a Descreening
Filter option, and there is no Descreening Filter option when there is a
Histogram Adjustment.
I scanned a picture today that was too dark, and I needed to adjust the
Histogram, but in order to obviate the need to go through the sequence of
scanning, blurring, resampling then applying a USM, it would have been nice
to have the Descreening option.
I don't want to do the Histogram Adjustment post-scan.
ArcSoft PhotoImpression 4 has a Tone option, which has
Highlight/Midtones/Shadow adjustments - is that the equivalent of the
Histogram?
I look forward to any constructive comments regarding this. And thank you in
advance.
