I have two computers hooked to an a/b switch box for computer selection.
The a/b switch then goes to a 4 position switchbox.
The 4 position switchbox has outputs going to an HP842 printer, a Star NX
2430 printer, and a canon FB 630P flat bed scanner.
This setup used to work good for us. Either computer could hookup to any of
the peripherals, and things cooked along good.
Well, I got a new computer approx 4 mos ago. The new computer runs Win XP.
For some reason, the Canon scanner program doesn't like the setup it looks
into.
Whenever I try to do a scan with my newer computer, I get a Canocraft error
msg:
"the parallel port may be used by another application. Error code
0x00060800". And, it jams up at this point.
The scanner works fine with my other networked computer (we have his 'n hers
computers). And, yes, I can use it to scan, and then send the .jpg/.bmp
files to my computer via email attachment.
I think there must be something simple that I'm missing here, so am open to
suggestions.
