Hi, I currently have NCM set to encode scans with "Adobe RGB (1998)",
but for some reason PS reads these as being encoded with "Nikon Adobe
RGB 4.0.0.3000" Is this the same thing? PS still gives the option to
convert the file to "Adobe RGB (1998), so I'm not completely sure. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

Make that "did not see"
They may or may not be exactly the same. i did see any large
differences. Photoshop is reading the tag in the file. You can run a
quick test that may give you an indication if they are grossly
different. Set up NS to embed the scanner profile (not Adobe98) and then
bring the image into PS and convert to Adobe 98. Compare the image with
the same one from your current workflow. This is only a rough
check. There may be other issues from doing two "color space" transforms.
Perhaps someone with more knowledge of NS conversions and implementation
of Adobe98 can comment.
