I'm getting "Please connect or switch on your scanner" messges all the
time any can't get my software to fire up.

I'm using XP SP1 and the Scanwise version 2.0.0.9 currently on agfa
website.

Unless I'm going completely loony, I'm sure I've had it working with
XP before, so maybe it's SP1 that's loused it up???

I've been searching google groups and tried the changing the
compatibility mode thingy that lots of people were talking about (to
each of the possibile settings) but that didn't work for me.

I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software in case
anything went pear shaped when I lost my registry quite some time ago
(no idea whether I've used the scanner since then). I've also tried
installing Scanwise on a PC that's never had it loaded. Neither of
which helped.

And of course I've tried the usual powering and depowering the scanner
thing that the temperamental beastie always seemed to need right from
day 1...

So, I'm a bit stumped now... Is our scanner destined to be recycled as
a doorstop...?

I had the same problem with an AGFA e20 which I no longer have. The
solution was to change the compatibility mode. I forget which mode
worked, but try each one and see if one works. Hopefully this will help
you.

If that's the right clicking on the icon thingy that's what I've
already tried - all options - 95, 98/ME, NT4SP5, 2000 - none of which
sorts my problem...

Thanks anyway
